It seemed deserted, this dusty little plain on this backwater planet.

After the initial surprise you quickly recovered and torched the evil beast inside its hive.

But the hives are everywhere, spawning more of the evil creatures. You've got their full attention now.

You are a hardened space explorer and anyway, you don't have the luxury to consider the well being of the native life forms right now. Not that you normally do...

[Version info:]
1.000 - original
1.001 - difficulty ramps up quicker; reduced gameplay area from 1000x1000 to 500x500; these improvements made due to user feedback.

Please POST a comment if you have an idea for improving the game or you have run into any problems. I like feedback.

The mouse aims your weapons.

Left mouse button shoots your trusty blaster. It has unlimited ammo.

Right mouse button to fire up the powerful flamer that you happen to have on you. Your flamer's ammo recharges slowly.

After each level, your flamer ammo recharge rate increases, as well as the maximum flamer ammo.

If you can reach level 6, you are doing really well. To reach that and levels beyond you will have to develop a crowd-control strategy.

Press ENTER to start.

I think it's pretty cool, but it needs to speed up way faster. I played for several minutes and it kept going at the same speed, never becoming difficult - level 1 should only lasts for some 30 seconds or so - a few waves, max. :) Also, I'd suggest some other colors... but that's a matter of personal opinion of course. Good work!

The games demands to download an old version of java (1.5 something) Maybe you can update the jnlp to allow 1.6 as well?
